Dead wrong. Start with 'help role'. Then try: ../messages/27372.html. Then go and read: ../char/messages/1064.html. Then do a forum search and read all of the other IMM-composed threads on the role command, because IMM's are the ones who can actually read them. Not to impugn your mysterious "extremely high-ranking" source, but according to everone else, you have it dead wrong.
> Im not saying that useing role is a bad thing, But Arnt you nullifying roleplaying but haveing a role ? (excluding the rare deception rps or others that might not want others to know about their intents)
You are on crack. The role is there so IMMs who want to interact with you can know something about your past. You know why? Becuase they're gods! Because they -do- know these things IC. Plus, it may actually encourage them to interact with you.
> Seeing strange actions equipment etc has always invoked lots of Rping and interaction, generated much talk between players. Why dont the imm abide by some of the rules they are enforceing. Roleplay.
There's "strange", and there's "bad roleplaying". If I saw a paladin gambling away millions of gold pieces... I wouldn't think "strange".
> Spend a fraction of the time the player of the character has spent to try and learn more about the paladin, See if he fits into his role, fits into his gods religion. The perhaps he could make his descision.
I hope you aren't implying that IMM don't spend a lot of time doing exactly that.
