**This is almost exactly the process I went through when deciding to allow the name to not only exist but let it in my cabal. On a side note, I should mention I've never heard Melvin used as a slang for a wedgie...if I had...things might be different. I sat back and said,
Well, this guy has a stupid name that makes me roll my eyes everytime I see it. However, since we don't deny names like James, Betty, and the like we can't deny Melvin. Do I blow the guy off and not interact with him because I'm too busy rolling my eyes? Well, that doesn't seem fair either, since the name has not been denied it would be low-down and dirty to let the guy waste hours and hours on a doomed char.
However, I assure you all the immortals don't agree with me.
