In Reply to: Uh, totally irrelevant. Dhaevor said they show by their deeds they live without magic - and therefore as a straight no addition warrior. But of course they *aren't*, they get special benefits that do what magic would do for them. It makes no difference how ragers were started/created. n/t posted by Graatch on December 28, 2000 at 20:02:18:
Well, the underlying assumption is that any warrior could attain the purity of spirit that a Battlerager has and from whence his powers spring, if only they could free themselves from their dependence upon magic.
But really, you don't even need to make that argument. From a Rager's perspective, the 'game mechanics' are irrelevant. Yes, technically bloodthirst gives the 'haste' bit, just like the spell 'haste' and yes, technically resist gives the same reduction (roughly) as aura and shield. But from a Rager's perspective, the question is simply: "Does a man need to steal power from the gods, or manipulate said powers, in order to survive?" and the answer is "No, clearly, for I survive and I have not done so myself."
If you want to argue in game mechanics terms, obviously without Rager powers or magic, a warrior is at a disadvantage... but game design has no bearing on the IC arguments.
