> Well, the underlying assumption is that any warrior could attain the purity of spirit that a Battlerager has and from whence his powers spring, if only they could free themselves from their dependence upon magic.

That's a specious argument and you know it, punk. :P It's not the purity of spirit that grants the powers, otherwise all the people tattood by the various gods of purity and spirit (certainly holtzendorf or perhaps scarabaus, others maybe) would get the rager powers. No, the powers come from the head. Is a battlerager any less pure of spirit when the masters hold the head, when empire holds the head? No. But you lose powers, and that's an IC thing, not OOC. The powers come from the head through some mystical/divine bond. So, the ragers get special powers to compensate for giving up magic and fighting to erradicate it. But they do so *knowing* they get more than other warriors, other fighters. In truth, ragers should be be saying not that a person should fight without enhancement, but rather that a person should fight without *magical* enhancement. Non-magical enhancements are fine, and utilized in every way possible by ragers, and therefore the initial statement that they live as "straight no addition warriors" is untrue, and that *is* in an ic fact.
