A whispered call in Tharena's ear brought her back from her wine and elven pastries to the realities of the quest. A seer had come, to speak with her. Would she but come to the Inn and speak with him? And off she went to speak with the darkness again.

A Shadowed Alcove
The glow of the fire and torches does not reach this alcove. Tucked away with the windows shuttered only a single table sits here. The rest of the patrons who linger here prefer their own chair and that chair away from any others. Barmaids scurry in to deliver drinks and hurry out just as quickly, never lingering long. Faces are covered in shadow and hard to make out. Whispers echo about, but only rarely, as most here would not like their business known or talked about. The smell of old meat and rank ale lingers strongly here as the sounds of the inn seem to drift in here from the west like a dream of some faraway place.

[Exits: west]
A haughty looking man dressed in rich purple robes stands here.
A very large storm giant stands eyeing the crowd for troubles.
A figure, cloaked in shadow, sits in the darkest corner.

Looking at Kendrinn:
Dressed in rich purple robes bearing the symbol of a great hourglass beside a crystal ball, this man seems to have a great deal of arrogance. His spartan features are set into a half-sneer, as he surveys everything around him. His onyx-black hair is long, nearly shoulder length, giving him an almost androgynous look. His skin is a pale white, as if he had not spent a day of his life in the outdoors.
Kendrinn the Seer is in perfect health.

Considering Kendrinn:
You could kill Kendrinn the Seer with your little finger.
Kendrinn the Seer grins evilly at you.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'And many more have heard the first from the scrolls you publicly posted.'

Tharena says 'Aye.. I am aware', pulling her legs up underneath her.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'those who have the sight are rare, those who develop it spontaneously are rarer still'

Tharena nods at Kendrinn the Seer, saying 'A gift. Something that many people don't understand.'

Kendrinn the Seer shrugs helplessly, saying 'Most people are fools, and know not the value of what they have until it is gone'

Tharena snickers softly, saying 'Aye.. it is too true, unfortunately', and shaking her head.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'now then, shall we get down to business?'

Tharena says 'Aye, I guess so', nodding her agreement.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Name what it is that you wish to know, and I will name my price.'

Tharena raises an eyebrow at the notion.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'For some information is more valuable than others.', grinning slyly.

Tharena says 'Aye, I understand that..', chuckling politely. 'If ye don't know, would ye set the price impossible though, just to see a tired bardess run?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'I would tell you that price was beyond your reach'

Tharena raises her eyebrow at Kendrinn the Seer.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'if you cannot pay it is of no use to me, I would prefer you purchase something you can afford'

Tharena chuckles politely.

And Tharena is worth: 1283 gold, and 680855 experience.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'after all, if you purchase nothing, I make little
profit from my trip here.'

Tharena closes her eyes, putting her thoughts in order.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'or perhaps you may wish to ask another to fetch more
money for you.'

Tharena says 'I think of this, straight off.. Where is the location of the summoning to be.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'You must be more specific. The summoning of what?'

Tharena says 'The summoning of this... Uraeus? I believe that is the name of the creature. Or something close..'

Kendrinn the Seer chuckles politely.

Tharena says 'Apparently a demon stronger than the strongest gods, and more evil that Scarabaeus, or Pico.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'This is I will tell you for ten gold.'

Tharena says 'I can do that', nodding, and raising an eyebrow at Kendrinn the Seer. Tharena gives Kendrinn the Seer 10 gold.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'No demon of that name, or anything close to it, will be summoned, at least not upon the upcoming Solar Eclipse.'

Tharena smirks. 'Pleasant. Will the sacrifice Aleah spoke of require a.. living flesh.. component, or just the statues?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'for this, 50 gold.'

Tharena thinks for a moment, then gives Kendrinn the Seer 50 gold.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Yes, the old woman saw unclearly... the usage of the
Orihalcon Statues requires no living being to be sacrificed. Whether or not any are, however, would depend on who uses them', smirking.

Tharena says 'Mmm. This one comes in two parts.. If the statues are not all recovered by the Masters performing the ceremony.. sacrifice.. whatever.. can this ceremony be completed to their desired affect.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'One hundred gold, for this first part.'

Tharena is now worth: 1223 gold, and 680855 experience.

Tharena nods and gives Kendrinn the Seer 100 gold. [And looks for likely help]

[ Elf ] Telradion the Master of Brass, Knight of Thera

Kendrinn the Seer says 'The Orihalcon statues may be used at any time, although their power is but a shadow of that when used during the Eclipse'

Tharena tells Telradion 'I may need ye to scare up some gold for me, love.. if ye get the chance..'

Tharena wrinkles her brow, saying 'I think you missed part of that. "If they are not all recovered...", then sighs.

Kendrinn the Seer smirks, saying 'This answer I will provide for 50 gold.'

Tharena says 'Well then, let me phrase it clearly so ye cannot fool me', smirking at Kendrinn the Seer.

Telradion tells Tharena 'how much do you need. :)'

Tharena says 'If the statues are not all recovered, can this spell/ceremony be completed?'

Tharena tells Telradion 'This guy is evil... I dunno...'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Very well... my money?'

Tharena says 'Still the 50 gold?', smirking.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Yes.'

Tharena gives Kendrinn the Seer 50 gold.

Telradion tells Tharena 'will 20k do?'

Tharena tells Telradion 'I hope so. Wait for now.. I'll tell ye when..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'The statues do not work unless all seven are present... but...'

Tharena raises an eyebrow at the notion.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'the will of the statues seems such that they will all be present in the lands that night'

Tharena smirks, saying 'But of course.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Now then, what else would you know?'

Tharena says 'If the Masters cannot recover all seven *for* the ceremony, would they use.. something else.. to replace the missing Statues, and if so, what.'

Kendrinn the Seer says '150 gold for that answer'

Tharena gives Kendrinn the Seer 150 gold, and is now worth: 923 gold, and 680855 experience (25245 exp to level).

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Nothing can replace even one of the statues. They
function only when all seven are present.'

Tharena nods, saying 'Indigo's in her own kettle of fish then... Ye make me nervous, so I ask the question.. Must the statues be present in the realms only, or must they all be present on the altar Aleah spoke of?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'for this answer, 100 gold'

Tharena gives Kendrinn the Seer 100 gold.

Tharena tells Telradion 'I can borrow ye about any time now.. =P Evil sot. *smirk* He's good at what he does, though..'

Telradion tells Tharena 'can you come to udgaard? killing something tough'

Tharena tells Telradion 'Nope.'

Telradion tells Tharena 'actually, where are you'

Tharena tells Telradion 'Shadowy corner of the Eternal.'

Tharena raises her eyebrow at Kendrinn the Seer.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'the statues must be assembled together, by one person'

Telradion tells Tharena 'whre are you?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'in divided possession, they are nothing'

Tharena tells Telradion 'Inn of the Eternal Star.'

Tharena nods, then says 'I think I already know the answer to this one.. but humor me the question... Are we seeing the end of the Third Age?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'For this, 150 gold'

Tharena says 'I hope I like the answer..', shaking her head and chuckling softly as she gives Kendrinn the Seer 150 gold.

Telradion gives Tharena 20000 gold.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Most likely not... I doubt this is as great an
occurence as one to end an age'

Tharena tells Telradion 'You're a love.'

Tharena says 'Aeyly will be disappointed... that was his thought..' chuckling. 'Okay.. What was the signifigance of those twisted trees, and the keys hidden inside them.' Tharena smiles as she guesses the cost.

[Kendrinn seems to have gone for a walk...]

Kendrinn the Seer mutters something quietly to itself.

Tharena says 'Just like a man.'

Kendrinn the Seer sits down on the ground.

Tharena says 'Nice walk?' smirking at Kendrinn the Seer as she twiddles her thumbs, waiting.

Kendrinn the Seer smirks, and says 'Were you going to pay the fee?'

Tharena says 'Were you going to name it?', raising an eyebrow at Kendrinn the Seer. 'I am not the mind reader.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'this is a more difficult question.. 1000 gold.'

Tharena is now worth: 20673 gold, and 680855 experience (25245 exp to level)

Morideth gallantly tips his hat to Tharena, saying 'Greetings to you, Tharena..'

Tharena shoos Morideth. 'Greetings.. I'll talk to you another time.'

Morideth says 'Shall I leave you both alone?'

Tharena nods, saying 'Please.'

Morideth nods, and leaves west.

Tharena chuckles politely, shaking her her head as she gives Kendrinn the Seer 1000 gold. Tharena mumbles something about a following.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'The trees are, or were, a sign foretelling of what could occur should the power of the 7 fall into the wrong hands... the fact that they appeared to have something hidden inside was merely a quirk of fate'

Tharena says 'That is all?', chuckling politely. 'Were a sign, aye.. Didn't help that the Udgaardian convicts could pick them up like
paperweights.. ... Goodness.. I'm going to sound like an old schoolmarm.. Give a detailed description of what the masters and whoever else needs them have planned to do with these statues.' Tharena smirks and waits for the cost.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'you wish to know what the statues do, then? 12,000
gold.'

Tharena says 'The question says detailed, mind you. No cheezy half answers..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'do you want my answer, or not?'

Tharena says 'For that much gold I could be happily drunk for a week.'

Kendrinn the Seer smirks.

Tharena chuckles as she gives Kendrinn the Seer 12000 gold.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'The statues of Orihalcon are an ancient device which is used for one specific purpose. It summons forth from another plane of existence, a semi-divine being, known as an evangion.

Tharena wrinkles her brow, considering Kendrinn's information.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'this being will then grant one wish to its summoner,
before returning to its world'

Tharena says 'I'll rephrase my *first* question now', smirking at Kendrinn the Seer. Where, exactly, is the summoning taking place?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'For this answer, 2000 gold'

Tharena says 'If you give me an answer like "a dark tunnel", do I get my money back.., smirking wryly at Kendrinn the Seer as she gives him 2000 gold.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'The most opportune place for the statues to be used
would most likely be a sandstone altar, deep in the forest southwest of
Galadon'

Tharena looks into her moneypouch and ponders. 'Who is the man of snakes and lightning, as spoken of by Aleah?'

Kendrinn the Seer grins evilly.

Tharena raises an eyebrow at the notion.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'now you move to the heart of the matter'

Tharena says 'Waiting for that one, were we?', grinning at Kendrinn the Seer.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'His name I will not tell you, for it is dangerous to
speak, but I will tell you his goal, for 2500 gold.'

Swiftelk tells Tharena 'Tharena!!!'

Tharena tells Swiftelk 'Friend, I am a mite busy.. I will speak to you shortly, please?', tilting her head to one side, listening for a moment.

Swiftelk tells Tharena 'Aye...'

Tharena tells Swiftelk 'Thanks.. I have new information.. meet me in the shrine, eventually.'

Tharena nods and gives Kendrinn the Seer 2500 gold.

Swiftelk tells Tharena 'enroute... Need anything?'

Tharena tells Swiftelk 'Well.. you could come by the Inn and give me lots of gold.. but other than that, my friend.. nothing.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'He too, seeks the statues, for his own dark purposes, separate from the Masters of Magic.'

Tharena tells Swiftelk 'I'm dealing with a shady kind of guy here.'

Swiftelk tells Tharena 'I am sorry that I do not keep... but, I will give you what I have...'

Tharena tells Swiftelk 'I wouldn't have accepted it anyways.. it was a jest, my friend.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'exactly what he would do with them if he gains them, I am blocked from seeing'

Swiftelk tells Tharena 'I know...'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'but I gather it would not be to the liking of most
Therans.'

Tharena says 'most *good* Therans.. or most Therans..', smirking as she considers the thought. 'Don't answer.'

Kendrinn the Seer smirks.

Tharena says 'Are there any other clues you can give me to this jackanape's
identity? You know.. Preferrably *everything* but his name..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'I fear not, he is shrouded in shadows still. I can see some of where he will go, but not from where he comes'

Tharena nods, saying 'Price too high for you, or me.' Tharena closes her eyes, thinking back on her scrolls. 'You see things.. Can you see even bits of the future?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'of course. Not much of a seer would I be if I did
not. However, the future is always in motion'

Tharena says 'Only the future knows what the future holds..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'the will of individuals changes it, and those are
hardest to gauge of all'

Tharena smiles, saying 'Damned well hope so. The light depends on it. In any case.. Mister "I know all" should already know the holder of two statues
remains... in hiding.. or sanctuary..'

Kendrinn the Seer nods, saying 'as I stated before, I have a feeling they will all make themselves present in the lands that eve', smirking at Tharena.

Tharena says 'So long as they remain in hiding where they are, will they be safe from attack, and forced removal of said statues?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'which reminds me'

Tharena raises her eyebrow at Kendrinn the Seer. 'Reminds you?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Don't you wish to know the exact time of the beginning of the eclipse?'

Tharena says 'Midnight noon', smirking. 'Answer my question, and then I will ask yours.', grinning evilly at Kendrinn.

Telradion tells Tharena '*hug*'

Tharena tells Telradion 'Tel.. this guy is a crook... he's informative.. but he's still a crook.'

Kendrinn the Seer closes his eyes and concentrates for a moment.

Tharena raises an eyebrow at the notion.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'I cannot see'

Telradion tells Tharena 'you have to deal with scum to find out about scum
sometimes. '

Tharena nods, snickering about something. 'Sorry.. And your question? Date, time, all that fancy stuff.. Ye got it down to the sliver?', smirking.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'for 2000 gold I will tell you.'

Tharena nods and gives Kendrinn the Seer 2000 gold.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'signs point to the eclipse beginning on the 25th day of the 12th month of the old Seantryn Calendar at the tenth hour of the second half of the day'

Tharena says 'Aye. Okay.'

Vorg bows deeply.

Tharena says 'Well met.. Would you excuse for a moment, please?'

Vorg says 'Apologies.', and leaves.

Tharena says 'One last question.. And this one, I'm almost sure you can't see.. But, I think I'm allowed to indulge myself.. Not every day you meet such a talented seer as yourself..'

Vorg yells 'Thanks for lettin us regular folks know what's goin on.. we all owe ye for that. Luck to our heroes.'

Tharena musics 'Thanks, and you're welcome..'

Tharena says 'They're so cute.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Flattery will get you nowhere', smirking.

Tharena grins evilly at Kendrinn the Seer, saying 'Last I heard, flattery got nice young women anywhere.. But.. we'll leave that insult out of it', as she tilts her head and smiles slyly at Kendrinn the Seer. 'My question is this.. What know you of my current situation.. Before I ask the question, that is..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'A little... more than most.'

Tharena says 'More than most... You care to... elaborate?', raising her eyebrow at Kendrinn the Seer.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Ask your question, and I will state my fee, or inform you that I do not know.'

Tharena says 'Ye know I left the Troupe, aye?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'That I know, yes.'

Tharena says 'Excuse a bardess for making things a little more.. fuller.. Ye know I seek the Knighthood, aye?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'I have heard such.'

Tharena says 'I wanted to know this...'

Kendrinn the Seer says '...have you a chance in hell?', smirking.

Tharena says '*If* I make the Knighthood, will I do it before this battle to come? Have I? Recommendations from a goodly number of the Knights, so I was told by Delyn. The only thing that I hear counts against me is that I was in Troupe at all..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'In Hell, you might make the First Circle on your own, the Sixth perhaps with aid of others', smirking.

Tharena falls down laughing, saying 'Been there..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'As far as the Knights go, the Gods of the Troupe have not struck you down'

Telradion tells Tharena 'will you tell me when you're free dear?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'but whether or not you will be accepted by the Knights is another matter entirely.'

Tharena says 'I know that well. But what is called a "cabal transfer".. I believe Delyn called it.. is rare..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'most gods do not look kindly upon mid-life crises', nodding at Tharena.

Tharena tells Telradion 'Of course.'

Tharena falls down laughing as she says 'You know nothing of Elves.'

Kendrinn the Seer shrugs helplessly.

Tharena says 'You're saying just what I thought. You don't know.', as she pokes Kendrinn the Seer in the ribs.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'And I charged you not a whit for that question,
either.. so do not complain.'

Tharena says 'Ye didn't charge me for the last one ye didn't know, either.. I wasn't complaining.'

Kendrinn the Seer smirks.

Tharena says 'Oh... I do have one more..', bonking herself on the head for forgetting.

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Yes?'

Tharena says 'Is there an item in the realms that will block the Master's spell called "Tesseract", and if so, what and where is it?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'That I will tell you for free, as a favor..'

Tharena says 'Item, not location.. You're too kind.. I mean that true.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'there is no item that does so, only certain places in Thera.'

Tharena says 'Drat and tarnation.'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Now, if there is nothing else...'

Tharena says 'Esh won't be happy to know that', nodding at Kendrinn the Seer. 'Will ye be around to speak to again, if needed? As in, could I send ye word somehow?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'Perhaps, if it is profitable', shaking his head. 'I keep no business hours.'

Tharena says 'If I had my companions about now, there would have been more
questions.. and more money flowing..'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'I will be around from time to time.'

Tharena says 'And to contact you, if ye be around?'

Kendrinn the Seer says 'I will contact you.'

Tharena smiles and nods at Kendrinn the Seer. 'Dear me.. Have I got *more* writing to do.'

Kendrinn the Seer stands up. 'Until then...'

Tharena nods, then musics to the departing Kendrinn the Seer 'Thank ye for leaving me with my belongings...'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A vision of the past and the future, and Tharena was again off writing in the Lord Shokai's shrine, until a call from Istesso brought her out into the quiet elven morn.

Istesso says 'I haven't tried going through the fissure yet though...there may be more doors.'

A musty antechamber
You are standing in a musty antechamber. The room is filled with what appear to have been tapestries and paintings, all of which have long since rotted. A few sculptures once stood watch over this room, but are now little more than bases and rubble. Everything has been coated with a thick layer of dust, save for several footprints leading between the fissure and a large pair of doors in the west wall. The room is suffused with a dark, unnatural aura. The temperature of the room is very cold, almost freezing. To the east, a hole in the wall leads to the fissure, and a pair of doors marked with three snakes intertwined with lightning bolts lie to the west.

[Exits: east west]
Istesso the Hymnist is here.

Tharena says 'Follow?'

Istesso now follows Tharena.

Tharena nods, saying 'Don't assist me if trouble comes.. And if it comes to you, just run.'

Istesso nods.

Tharena takes a deep breath

The shattered remnants of an ancient Temple
You are standing in what appears to have once been an ancient temple. The room is filled with broken statues, and a number of what were once flammable objects have been burned beyond recognition. At the center lies a shattered iron altar, covered in sigils now rendered illegible. The room is suffused with a cold, menacing feeling... something feels extremely unnatural about this place. On each of the walls, a great seal of three snakes entwining lightning bolts has been inscribed.

Looking at the sigils:
From the looks of things, they were long ago defaced, but they still seem to exude the aura that envelops the chamber. The doors in the east wall are the only exit.

[Exits: east]
A large altar formed from iron has been shattered into pieces.

Tharena yells 'Help! I'm being attacked by Azatodeth!'

(PK) Tharena The shattered remnants of an ancient Temple

Adding to the mystery, an ancient temple newly uncovered, just inside the boundaries of Darsylon. A great cause for concern indeed.

l altar
This iron altar appears to be coated with long-dried blood of some kind. The altar once bore what appears to have been a symbol of three snakes entertwining lightning bolts. This is the mark of the dreaded demon-god Zurcon, who sought to destroy the elves, and the world itself, back at the dawn of time. When Zurcon was driven from the realm and imprisoned, all the temples of his were sealed forever...until now.

Tharena gets a carefully written letter from a leather satchel.

Tharena reads a carefully written letter:
The letter is written in very careful handwriting. For the most part, it contains several maps of defensive fortifications and the layout of Darsylon itself. Notes have been made on troop placements, and so forth. At the bottom is the following:

I have managed to get a good deal of information on the elven defenses in Darsylon. I trust you will pay me well, as was agreed. So far, I have not been able to gain entry into the palace itself, or glean any knowledge of its magical defenses or nature. However, I am certain I can find a way to provide you with whatever you wish to know, if the price is good enough.
