And so he came to me, within the Guild of Bards in Galadon, as my strength waned in so many ways, and I weakened from the stresses. Capture file opened 17/Dec/1997 04:13p (should be 22nd) Tharena says 'It is an understatement.' A Guardian of the Star says 'tell us, what have you uncovered?' Tharena says 'How much do you know? I could babble on endlessly...?' A Guardian of the Star says 'We have heard many, many rumors, and wished to know the true state of events.' Tharena says 'Truth?' A Guardian of the Star says 'As close as you understand it to be, yes.' Tharena says 'The light is in grave danger, and Thera too. Know you what day it is on the Seantryn calandar? I have lost track of time..' A Guardian of the Star says 'On the old Seantryn calendar, you mean?' Tharena says 'Aye..' A Guardian of the Star says 'if it is any relation to the Elven Calendar, this would be the 22nd day of the 12th month.' Tharena says 'We have three old elven days.. You know there are seven statues? Seven ivory statues carved in the figures of fair maidens..' A Guardian of the Star says 'Yes, we know of the Orihalcon Statues. The Statues are merely a tool, which can be used for good or evil' Tharena says 'In good hands, all is well.. They must *all* be placed on an altar.. a sandstone one, I think.. Now, we are praying it is not Lady Raisa's shrine, and somewhere in the Witch Wood.. at the one there.. I know now that the trees had no significance other than to be a warning.. A warning of what will come if we do not put a stop to this..' A Guardian of the Star says 'It must then be assured that they are not used to evil ends.' Tharena says 'The statues.. I know what they do, now.. They summon an entity.. an.. evangion.. That I know not of..' A Guardian of the Star nods. Tharena says 'But it grants one wish before returning to it's realms..' A Guardian of the Star says 'so near as can be told from legends, its power is not aligned.. one could say that it is neither angel or devil' Tharena says 'Aye.. Or both.' A Guardian of the Star says 'In its use, yes.' Tharena says 'But that is not the matter.. The matter is the Masters have it for one reason.. And someone else wants it for another.. And it scared me that I ran into a small little place, just outside/inside the elven valley.. Snakes, and lightning.. But the doors, the walls.. were marked with three snakes, and lightning all around.. A seal I have never seen?' A Guardian of the Star says 'You refer to the Demon-God, Zurcon? the Demon-God of Annihilation is a formidable foe, indeed.. for it knows no compassion, not even the desire of Empire to conquer, or the Shadow to control by intrigue.. it knows only the will to destroy..' Tharena says 'But I don't know.. there is correlation.. but not enough hard proof. I cannot count that as a truth, just a possibility.' A Guardian of the Star says 'However' Tharena says 'Elves first.' A Guardian of the Star nods, saying 'Elves are the most hated by it, for we were the ones to oppose it' Tharena says 'Either way.. The Masters want me dead... that god will want me dead... I'm in a good position', chuckling at her situation. A Guardian of the Star says 'However, the Demon-God Zurcon has been imprisoned since the dawn of time.. and remains safely so. The ivory box that forms his prison is guarded well' Tharena says 'I don't know.. One person.. with one wish.. Boom.. There goes the whole world. ... Ivory box?' A Guardian of the Star nods. Tharena says 'Can I say yet that I'm near sick of ivory?' A Guardian of the Star says 'Marked on all sides, in all languages, "Do not open."' Tharena sighs, then blinks. 'Well.. where is that box?' A Guardian of the Star says 'It remains in the possession of Lord Andaren himself, guarded against all eventualities.' Tharena says 'Pffth. One wish. "I wish Lord Andaren never existed".. and the box would be free. Yes... there's other details.. but it could happen.. Not that I'm getting paranoid.' A Guardian of the Star says 'Strong as the Evangion is, it is not a god in its own right' Tharena says 'Thank the gods for that.' A Guardian of the Star says 'in a direct challenge to the power of one, it could not prevail.. This does not mean its power could not be used for evil in many other fashions' Tharena says 'What about if the wish it grants is to raise one that can?' A Guardian of the Star nods, saying 'This we do not know' Tharena says 'Now isn't that a whole tin of worms', resting. 'Anyhow..' A Guardian of the Star says 'Perhaps.' Tharena says 'The shrine in Witch wood.. we believe..is where this is all supposed to take place.. Rayven is to put the statues together.. It can only be done by one person.. And Alodar has set her to do it.' [So she told me. =P] Tharena grumbles distractedly to herself, then says 'She knows not of what she does.. she cares for the tower, and magic..' A Guardian of the Star says 'Tell me of this person.' Tharena says 'Indigo, too.. Both walk in the light.. I know Rayven only passing well.. Indigo is a good friend.. And an elf of the light. She has pulled out to "follow her destiny"... She made a deal.. and she didn't want to.. she was hiding in the inn.. I fear for her so much..' A Guardian of the Star nods. Tharena says 'Rayven is stronger.. But stupid.' A Guardian of the Star says 'If the statues are assembled by one of our brethren, then we have little to fear...' Tharena says 'Not under the direction of the masters... They care for only what Alodar tells them.. They will not leave the tower. It hurts me. ... That's about what I can say of them..', shaking her head. 'Devoted to magic, and too blind to see what Alodar has them doing..' A Guardian of the Star says 'Perhaps you should step out for a moment and get something to eat.' [Tharena, who was starving for most of the conversation, didn't want the Guardian disappearing like the Maran did on her, and was too tired to care.] Tharena says '"It's magic" they say..' [Checks the time] Tharena says 'The butcher is not open..', sighing, and waiting the extra hour or two. 'Moment.' [Fetch some food, though truly it wasn't hurting too much: <375hp 329m 357mv>, before returning] Debanhar's Tavern [Exits: north west] Tharena nods and rests. 'Sorry. It's been... a long elven day.' A Guardian of the Star says 'Now then' Tharena says 'Rayven, and Indigo.. We have tried talking to them.. No luck', shaking her head. A Guardian of the Star says 'I would venture that you put too much distrust in the Masters in general' Tharena chuckles politely, saying 'You aren't hunted by 'em.' A Guardian of the Star says 'for not even the Gods of Shadow were foolish Tharena raises her eyebrow at the notion. 'What of the one fortold.. who bears snakes, and lightning.. Something tells me he's just going to pop out of duo-dimentional space like Moridin and destry evrything', sighing at the thought. A Guardian of the Star says 'It cannot be Zurcon, nor could it be his Tharena says 'We hope.' A Guardian of the Star says 'There are no current mortal followers that we know of who yet live, though there may have arisen new ones we yet know not of' Tharena nods at A Guardian of the Star, before continuing 'The children of the light are being slaughtered often enough.. We're just lost the strong ones.. Jarlandra especially... Darn what I wouldn't do for her ear right now.. or her arm. But we don't have her. We can only fight with the weakend groups of the Knights.. The Troupe will fight, only because the Inn is part of Thera. The Ragers....' Tharena snickers softly at the thought. Entropy...' A Guardian of the Star nods. Tharena says 'See Ragers. Sylvan is there... But it's membership is almost all young. Empire is strong.. The darker masters are all strong.. And everyone else... .. Some care.. Most don't.. You could tell them that the sky *was* falling..' Tharena blinks as she considers what else has been done. 'Oh? Okay.. I made a song.. A cry to battle.. I have been spreading it about, a little.. Aeylin was one of the first I showed it to..', smiling at the thought. 'Boy did he take to it.' Tharena pauses before she continues 'I've never been a leader..' A Guardian of the Star nods. Tharena says 'All these people.. So many innocents.' Tharena sighs at herself. 'Enough of that', and shakes her head to clear her thoughts. 'What else.. The words of my informant, if ye will.. My mind is so turning.. "He too, seeks the statues, for his own dark purposes, separate from the Masters of Magic.".. "exactly what he would do with them if he gains them, I am blocked from seeing. But I gather it would not be to the liking of most Therans"' A Guardian of the Star says 'Well, I fear we will have to see what comes of Tharena shivers and says 'Unfortunately..' There is a short pause, before Tharena continues, saying 'The time said.. The 25th day, of the 12th month, on the old elven calander.. At 2 hours before midnight.' A Guardian of the Star nods. Tharena says 'Simple truth.. Empires are pawns in a bigger game.. or so it seems.. And a partnership with the masters scares us all. Masters have their own purose in mind for what is done.. And so does whoever the man of snakes and lightning. Two different "groups" already vying for power over those statues... And then we add the light. We are uncertain if Schweigan will be able to hold off the darkness... I think the Masters have been working on some new magics..' A Guardian of the Star nods. Tharena says 'And Schweigan is still out of sorts with losing Jarlandra. He holds the fate of thera in that belt-pouch of his..' A Guardian of the Star nods, then says 'I must depart... Keep the faith.' Tharena says 'I try, very hard..' [And, as they do, the Guardian of the Star disappears into thin air.] Tharena smiles sadly as she looks around the Tavern. Tharena sighs as she says 'Where to today? Shokai must be sick of me right now.. Sune..', shaking her head, and wiping a tear from her cheek as she looks around. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 5 coming soon!

She would proceed to Andaren's shrine, after meeting Puff and having a good 10 minute conversation with her on Eastern Road, and though she returned a short few hours later, she would slip into the void as I ended my marathon mudding by falling asleep at the keyboard. I would, of course, thank the Immortals that worked me so hard at a later date.
