Now, I'm not saying this statement is completely false, but in regards to Dhaevor, you are way off target. First of all, he wasn't using the bracers. Now, let's examine his choices of what to do with the bracers as a rager.
1) Sacrifice them
Problem: Next time the mob that holds them is killed or the game reboots, someone else will be able to use the bracers.
2) Give them to the village healer
Problem: Next time the game reboots, someone else will be able to use the bracers.
3) Hold onto them, but do not use them
Problem: He could (and it turns out, did) die.

However, it took a hell of a lot longer for him to die than it did for the game to reboot.
