Trust me, it all is not that bad. Yes, while
they are bloodthirsting, spellbane works very
often. Gelkof baned like 80-90 percents of all
my spells (all of them area) though maybe it
was his luck or nice save spell eq (I think
spellbane depends on saves). But they don't
thirst always and only berserkers have area
spellbane, others are still affected by all
you area spells (and invokers have a lot of
them). Also, in empire you don't have to go
kill a rager alone with your voker. Shields
are so very nice for groups. You shield a couple
of your buddies and stay at the side, watch them
cut a rager into pieces.

I don't know why there are so few high ranked
invokers. It's annoying to be the only one.

Transmuters (if you're not arcane) usually
fight in forms, they don't care about spellbane.
So it leaves only arcane muters, everyone knows
that hold is almost useless, but that's the
whole helplessness of this part of class, not only
in the rager case.
