I actually think these are pretty good suggestions. Sometimes name generators give your some goofed up names...and those should be avoided (vowels people...vowels)...but I'd prefer many of them to the names taken from books and what not. I'd be a bit careful with textbook names, also.

I'm a big fan of method 3...letter changes. Method 1 and 2 can give you good spring boards to use method 3 on.

And remember...just because your name isn't busted by the immortals doesn't mean a percentage of us aren't groaning when we see it.
