I've died a few times to things like this and I've learned that 99.9% of the time, griping about it will get you nowhere. The attitude that you're expected to adopt is "Well, shit happens". Is it supposed to be easy? Heck, no. I don't blame you for having the impetus to question, but I'd urge you to do your best to let things like this go.
