I hope for your own sake that you are not one of those that complain about the lack of leader in the Empire. If your sect leader were present, you would have been anathema faster than you can say the bloodoath. Donations are what keep the Empire strong, and the Empire will not help pay centurions of you do not pay the Empire. Hurry to the sect hall and donate all your gold and all items you posses. Last time I read something about this you should donate 15k per level you had optained. This is on of the hassles of the Empire, but you can donate items (Check the Item-page for value) and this makes it possible.
