I'm actually on Hiatus and just returned to the You're right. Being an Immortal is fun and That's great. Unfortulatly that is not how Its spent: 50 % Dealing with cheaters/whiners/morons who 10 % Dealing with people who can't roleplay 15 % Checking areas, testing things. 10 % Chatting with imms about the status of 5 % Dealing with administration type stuff. With the 10 % balance dealing with the stuff Of course a good deal of writing/coding Now.. the most fun part, for me is when someone Of course I still played the occasional mortal In conclusion of this ramble, again... You're First post in a while, had to get that out of the way.
forum to check up on things, but I figured I'd
address this question from my point of view.
that's why most people do it. For me its a
creative outlet and it feels really good
when you're roleplaying, dealing with quality
followers, designing/testing new classes
or powers or just created a quest or an area
and you get a positive, intelligent, well
played response to what you do...
the majority of your time online is spent.
whine, curse, spam, and lie like bastards when
you catch them red-handed.
* No fun at all.
and/or write descriptions who really usually
fit into the above catagory except this deals
with a specific type of ignorance. If these
people learn it can be pleasant.
* Pretty much not fun
* Somewhat fun, but more often tedious.
the mud or new ideas.

*Not really fun.
above that you addressed in your e-mail.
*The most fun part.
isn't included because most of that is in
offline mode even if you are monitering the
mud somewhat, you're not really interacting.
And when you are interacting the majority of
the time is spent less than fun. So being an
Imm is more like work than play in a lot of
ways. It makes mudding more like a hobby than
a game you play.
expresses appreciation either another Imm
or a player through good role playing,
a note, e-mail, forum post, etc. Its always
cool to be appreciated for hard work. Too
often, however, the result is whining and
bitching which is not so fun. You learn to
take both in stride though.
and its usually very rewarding to see something
that you designed/came up with as an intricate
part of someone elses enjoyment from a "third
person" point of view. Like when I meet one
of my followers when I'm a mortal and they're
actually playing the role they're supposed to,
or even more fun if you're fighting on the other
side against the cabal/religion that you run and
can see your efforts in effect.
right it is fun, but it also takes a great deal
of time and energy and it is not fun if its not
appreciated.
