Despite Nep's encouragement, I think they're pretty bland. Mainly it's a matter of land distribution. Especially after 30, you're not gonna catch them someplace you can use your tricks. Other classes, their shit works about anywhere.. even thieves only lose one skill outside, and you can find one city square in about every forest. You did a pretty good job of pointing out their sparse skills, and sparky makes an okay case for their pluses; but at hero ranks? They seem like a half-finished class, or maybe that's only because they're so limited landwise. This leads to severe penalites when raiding and picking the fight; trying to waylay people on the byroads is both boring and often unrewarding. (wait. check. wait. wait. check. fuck.. they decided to word). Possibly the elites are right and I'm just not good enough or patient enough. But judging by the number of rangers, they're just kinda boring. Next time through I'm back to shamans or assassins.
