When you blackjack or strangle someone, you cannot do it to them again until it wears off.

But if the antipaladin or necro is stupid enough to cast sleep on you while you are fighting something -- and is successful, such that you see the "you feel very sleepy..." echo, meaning you would be asleep if you were not already fighting someone else, then they should not be able to just flee and return and cast sleep. You should be free of it until that earlier sleep that worked, but didn't really work, wears off.
