Just sending email to the immortals isn't going to do anything. If you think you've got a character that's contributing a lot to the game despite otherwise being banned from these areas and you think that character has been overlooked, then sure, write the email. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Honestly, I don't know what all has been implemented since I only own one of the exploration areas. Even if some things were not open to you if the areas were, they would still be worth visiting (in my opinion, at least).

It has nothing to do with Lich quests.
