All thoughts of coding aside... Why do we need it? What's it going
to bring to the game? So you sit a few rooms away and shoot or cast
at someone a ways away. Big deal. Does it help the idea of roleplaying?
Hardly. Now you don't even have to get next to your opponent to fight.
Just sit from a distance and plink away with a bow or spell. As far as
being in the 21st century. Why does putting in ranged weapons modernize
the mud. Just because some other muds have it? CF does more than just
fine without ranged weapons. As far as realism goes. If you want ranged
weapons then I hope you want all the pain of upkeep. Making sure you have
arrows, picking them up after you fire, not being able to parry so much as
a butter knife with your bow. Having it break when you pull it back to far
causing shards of wood to embed themselves in your skin. Bow strings breaking
at the wrong times. Not being able to do squat against plate and chainmail.
What's next? Blackpower guns and cannons?
