To my knowledge they haven't made it harder for a long time, about 2 years. I just had a shapeshifter less than 5 months ago and had no more trouble perfecting it than I did with my trannie 5 years ago. Took me 3 days for the spell, and 2 more to perfect the spell and all the controls.
