Immortals are human beings, unfortunately. Behind that mask of all-knowingness is somebody who is prone to the weaknessses of mortality like anyone else. In the world of CF, they are pron to one more thing, the old adage that power corrupts.
There will ALWAYS be a reason to screw someone over. Anyone can be screwed over with an RP reason if one is looked for. Someone mentioned that they should look at the 'spirit of the law' and not 'twist and turn the meaning of every word'.
The question is. Do immortals serve themselves, or the mud, or th people who play them? I was around when people were being screwed over during the knights, i had three, not one of them was screwed. I've had fur Imperials, not one of them got screwed either. But it's the same trend. An elitist immortal imposes his own strict standard on a cabal, and everyone who doesn't meet it, too bad. Ironically, the knight immortals who did the screwing are almost like the Empire immortals doing it now.
If you want to punish for lack of roleplay, why does it have to be anathema? You ask a stupid question on the cabal channel and you get anathema? That's ridiculous in any roleplaying sense. The lack of some structure of mild disciplining is partly the fault, but the main reason is the immortal doig the screwing doesn't give a damn whose feelins he/she hurts, whose time and effort was thrown down the drain just because they didn't meet some impossibly high standard.
There was duergar shaman who was leading people from other sects to find people to kill, anathemaed. Ask who is a rager or the location of anyone, anathema.
