I think what he's saying is there's the fighters and then there's the band. The fighters look down on the band because they're not REALLY fighters, they're the people that want military service on their resume but don't really want to do anything for their country except blow on a horn and get a nice career out of it.

Now, the connection to CF, albeit a weak one, is that the "real" ragers (warriors, assassins, thieves, rangers) should look down upon the bards. This'll never ever ever happen because bards=better chance for successful pk and when you boil away the extraneous bullshit, that's what it's all about.
