IRC is a tool, that could be fun, but when people use it to share information(cheat,) find groupmates(cheat again,) or any other thing that isn't general discussion of the game, its one of the most destructive forces to the game around. Obviously the IMMs can't get rid of IRC, and it can't be monitered, but when some asshole starts spouting off information that should be learned through experience, or someone finds a group OOC through IRC, or shares a new skill, power, location of something, it just RUINS things. Even aside from the fact it is CHEATING, it stops the Imms from being able to develop more new, fun things for the game while we change/eliminate old fun things that have been spoiled. I support the above post that IRC links be removed and I also would suggest that those who really like this game and have enough personal integrity to play the game fairly to shun IRC and those associated with it unless they stop the blatant cheating that goes on there.
