Been thinking. Most people would agree that arcane muters pretty much are not worth it. The lag on duo sucks. You cannot do a gobal where with duo. Hold misses ten times more than halt. Some people have suggested giving them more spells, like some of the old offensive sprays. But why not just give Arcane muters shapeshift skill? I know it is supposed to be for shifters, but it isn't like it would make them overpowered. They would still get just minor forms, but with shift skill they would have more flexablity. Look at what an arcane muter has to do now days to attack someone from duo. They need to unduo (lag)...cast shape (lag)....enliven (lag) Haven't played one in awhile, but I think I am close on the lag. By that time, the arcane muter is either dead or the target ran away. I would say allow them to shape from duo...they still get the lag from coming up of duo but they would be in form with all controls up. It gives them a quick surpise form that if used right can be deadly (like the German U-Boat). Now days, with all the lag they have and the fact that everyone uses macros and stuff, it is almost stupid to unduo because they would get clocked in normal mage form. At least a minor form would give them a little chance to do something besides trying to throw a uselss hold around against a beserker that will spellbane and kill them in one round. At least a minor form might allow them to live two rounds. Arcane muters are a far cry from the early days when hold never missed. I think they need something.
