Then we get into people sitting around with a camo'd 27th level ranger getting attacked by a warrior of 11th rank. People who can't see invis, people who can't see hidden, etc. would get shredded by people taking advantage of this. Not to mention there is no way of telling if someone is grouped with someone else.

There are other concerns but this one alone is big enough to stop the possibility.
