I think that uncaballed storm paladin is absolutely
the best thing to explore the world. Just find an IMM
who doesn't require much from his/her followers to
empower you, and you get it.
Though exp penalty is very high, you will easily rank
to hero because with paladin it is easy.
You will have sanc + protection + resistance to physical
damage. Also, all the cures and waterbreathing.
If you convince anyone in game to tell you where are
other protections available to paladin (like in pills
and potions) it will be even easier.
