I would say you should decide on what race by time you're willing to spend
yes humans rank fast and have no major vulns
but they are not great at anything either
duergars are tough, vuln wrath sunray
firegiant(my choice) with propper time in training yer vulns are cold and lazyness
felar, fire, they are almost as dim as fire giants, but quick
arials, not all that shabby not strong either and thats the key, same with a felar you dont dodge, so you best dish the damage and be able to take it

half-elf, the vuln to iron is always a problem but with decent stats like they get its not half bad i think its like 23 20 20 21 18 or somethin close
I'd go fire, just cause they are the toughest when trained well
