After some thoughts on the latest ideas, here comes mine.:

lvl 23: Evaluate
Syntax: evaluate pc/mob_name body_part/item_name
Would reveal similar information as of lore, but on an item in possesion of another.

lvl 25: Investigate
Syntax: investigate [pcname]
The thief investigates the civilized room for a clue on wether someone has been there or not, and approximately when. If used with a specific name, it'd tell if the person in question was there in the last
2h. (RL) and give a clue of when If without a parameter, would tell everyone who have been there
but without the clue of when.
Examples:
investigate
Ishmael has been here.
Shokai has been here.
Bria has been here.

investigate Shokai
Shokai has been here just a few hours ago. (that's 0-6 hours*)
OR
Shokai has been here just some hours ago. (that's 6-12 hours*)
OR
Shokai has been here in less than a day. (that's 12-24 hours*)
OR
Shokai has been here some time ago. (that's 24-48 hours*)
OR
Shokai has been here long ago. (that's 48-120 hours*)
OR
You don't see any signs of Shokai .
*Game hours, ticks.

lvl 30: Fast Talk
Syntax: fasttalk item_name
This skill allows the thief to talk a merchant into buying the item in question for at least it's value, plus the thief's haggle skill. Fairly easy to accomplish, but on a failure the merchant won't make any business with the thief for a given time (1 RL hour? til disconnect?)

lvl 32: Spy
Syntax: spy direction
This skill allows the thief to fully know what awaits him at the given direction, as if he had actually walked there.

lvl 37: Decoy
Syntax: [automatic]
Everytime a thief successfully flees, he can attempt to leave a decoy on a random direction from
the room he's fleeing from. The decoy is much like a mirror entropy used to have, but a single one.
It fades out pretty quickly (3-4 combat rounds) and there can be only one at any given time.
Very useful to buy time when fleeing from someone.

lvl 40: Intelligence
Syntax: intelligence pc_name
A thief may request to his guild intelligence on another PC. He pays the guildmaster a certain amount ((thief_rank or target_rank, whichever is higher) *500 gold coins) and if the pc in question is anywhere that has a thief guild or an Inn, the thief will be told of which area his target lies.
Example:
intell Ishmael (if Ishmael is 55 then you'd be 27500 gold coins less rich here)
Your guildmaster from New Thalos tells you 'I've spotted Ishmael.'
OR
A bartender from Akan tells you 'I've spotted Ishmael.'
OR
Your contacts returned nothing.

lvl 45: Sleight of Hand
Syntax: sleight pc_name body_part/item_name
On a sleeping victim, the thief may attempt to remove a piece of armor (not bodyarmor or leggings) or a weapon. It's very risky and repeated attempts are increasingly risky. On failure, a victim forced to unconsciousness will awake, the merely asleep will awake and fight the thief. As you see, can be used to awaken slept people (or you'll just leave your friend almost naked, *grin*).

lvl 51: Improved Hide
Syntax: [automatically attempted when trying to hide]
This will not work all times but at a satisfatory percentage (90%), even if the skill is at 100%. The thief becomes completely undetectable as long he doesn't do anything. Even a single whisper would reveal
his position to those who can see the hidden (he remains normally hidden), speaking would reveal him to anyone. In other words, anything would render him to normal hide, and hide rules apply.

These ideas presume the removal of dual backstab and certain limits to knife, and were intended to focus the thief on thievering and leaning a bit on spying/scouting.
