Let empowerement seekers who've been to the god in question's shrine get a little echo saying "You feel your god's presence" when either they log on and the god is logged on, or when they are logged on and the god logs on.

A 5-20 minute delay could be put in + the possibility for the god to turn it off if he/she wished total anonymity.
