The War did start a bit late, but it started before Minalcar was gone, if only by a day or two. Think of it as retroactive payback. Right now you're paying for the actions of prior leadership and if you're smart about it you'll make sure that your partners in crime that participate in the Rites know that ending the War is the first thing they should do. Masters are strong, Empire is getting stronger(even though anatheming 3 near-hero blade-members is stupid as all get out), and Arbiters are even getting stronger, so the ragers probably have a rough couple months ahead of them.

Ragers like to think they're the underdogs and they likely should be the underdogs but that's not often the case. Ragers have had more members than the Empire for pretty damn close to 6 months to maybe even a year. They haven't been the underdogs really since they were split into the tri-partite cabal that they are now.

The thing is, when ragers actually ARE underdogs nobody plays them until somebody like Challen makes a leader, and that usually doesn't even matter until he tells who he is over IRC *wink Challen* and then suddenly they have umpteen applicants.

A good many rager players tend to be what I affectionately call members of the "Quake/Duke Nukem/Half-Life Generation". They're in it for the powers and the pks that go with it and so if they find themselves losing they go where the power is.
