The reason most people are outwardly against ranking so quickly is because supposedly it takes away from Roleplaying. Think about it this way.. If you're rank 45 and you're a 40 hour character (reasonably) How much roleplaying have you actually done? Not much at all.

My opinion...

I think if it's appropriate to your role you can do anything you want. Consistency is the key in any situation. Even if you're playing a Baron you still need to be consistently chaotic even though chaos isn't consistent. Confuse you yet? ;-) I think you get the point...

If, in your role, you have something like.. 'He's quiet, calm and not much of a talker and tends to stray away from social events...' And then you enter another role, maybe at rank 35 or something, that says.. 'With maturity, *** has become more personable and has recently begun seeking out areas where he can mingle with others.' Catch my drift?

It's my opinion that if you set out for your character to be one thing you should stick with it... If you get a new idea while playing it on how to expand that particular character's horizons.. Good luck and run with it!

I don't have much 'respect' for someone that heroes just by ranking, ranking, ranking... I think that character lacks any sort of depth, but as I always feel.. if that's what makes the player playing that character happy, go for it.

> Why? For me, playing hero is much more interesting then playing a mid-ranked character. But somewhy lots of people think it's "bad". I would like to hear your constructive opinion (not flame this time).
