What exactly does duo dimension do?(text):

I have read that while in duo you cant be hurt...
Can you cast spells on someone from in duo?
Can people see you in duo?
For such a high level spell...and since you lose the major form by choosing this route...can someone tell me the big advantage?
Everything ive read on arcanes, seem to say they get boring fast....
