As far as in my experience, when I was duo, area spells/songs always missed me. So no, you can't be hurt by players.

Nope. Only yourself.

Players can't. Some certain aggro mobs can... unfortunately.
But, if you're not sneaking, they can see you enter/leave, as 'someone'.

Well, uh, I think it's there, you're pretty much safe from players.
