> What, exactly, is an elitist...in the CF world? I have a good idea... someone who knows all the areas well (especially the high level areas Hell, etc.), knows the game mechanics (ie knows the makeup of the code and knows the little things to get in that certain strike or escape at the last possible moment), and knows all the vulns, loop-holes, secret locations, best race-class combos. If I'm off please correct me. If the only way to achieve Elitedom is through experience then I'm on the right track. I've been playing since '94 with a 15 month break in between. How good should I be at this point? I've had one Hero. Played maybe half of all the races and/or classes. I've just begun exploring new areas. I don't know anyone personally who plays (although someone says they know me *shrug*) Any feedback is welcome.

Aright, just my take on someone that is Elitist, I don't think having contacts through IRC or ICQ makes a person Elite though alot of you seem to think that way. Here's my impression of the "CF ELITE". I picture someone that has had no contact with anyone from CF ever, that sits in their room in front of a monitor starting at the world of CF 24/7. Meaning they have learned everything about CF themselves, not with all these other people backing them up. I also think that you can only learn so much that way. With others helping you. So, to me you would have to give up IRC, ICQ this forum and everything else that is OOC. I will have to agree with alot of the posts so far that have said the game was that much better when there was no OOC forum to explore ideas or anything. It made you, yes you actually think about what to do. Rather then sitting and hearing like 20 to 30 other people give you advice. This is stuff that you should do alone.
Yes I am rambling, and yes there is some semblance of thought in here. Just look for it. It's something that I've been meaning to say for ages..

Being ELITE does not mean you have to be on IRC or ICQ. I think being ELITE means you don't use those forms and learn Thera on your own.
