Ultimately what drives your character is your sphere... what you are saying is an extention of your character for Role-playing purposes. From your example You are a combat driven Rager who whoops big ass because you are driven by the love of combat (hence thats your sphere), but your longing for your lost love and thats part of your Role-play not of what drives your char. I feel that it'd be more of a quirk than a driving force.
