I've got no beef with Troupe either, and the people who play Troupers are probably gamers of greater maturity than I am/was, though sometimes I wonder why some of them play CF rather than a pure-RP MU*.

Perhaps. I making a general allusion to the attitude of most old-school CFers, including many of the higher imms at the moment. While CF has evolved a lot, if you played CF in 1995 solely for the rich roleplaying experience, you were almost certainly abusing a controlled substance of some sort. Even moreso back in the 1st Age. The thought of something like Troupe 5 years ago back then would be laughable. Anyway, many of these players have adapted to changing standards in roleplay (including yourself, as seen in that log someone posted of Nepenthe as a mortal *cough*). But the original appeal of PK action that drew people to the game to begin with isn't going to just vanish.

Besides, when you did play a healer, for example, you didn't seem to enjoy it much. :P

> It stands to reason that if I'm playing one of these guys I'm not running a quest at the same time. If I'm not running it, there's probably not going to be one. I don't think anyone would argue that these cabals/players are probably getting more value out of that time being used to run quests and the like than me playing that curiously-knowledgable svirf necromancer trouper of Selric.

This is true, and I'm sure many a Trouper/Dawnie is grateful to you for it.
