Now, if you're offered the position and you say "No, I'm not fit to lead," expect to be anathemized.

But if you say that you are strong enough and relish the opporunity to prove that strength, blah blah, but imply that due to OOC reasons you simply don't have the time to do it right (i.e. "I'm strong, but for reasons beyond my control I would appear to be weaker than I am, hurting Sect and Empire") then I can't imagine an imm is going to dick you over for that. And if they did, they'd be wrong, IMHO.
