First of all, I thought the entire scene was nicely roleplayed. But IC, there was NO basis to convict at all. The proof, you ask? None. No evidence. Nothing was stolen, there were no witnesses, no one actually saw the alleged monkey except the accuser, Blik had never committed a crime, was not chaotic, nor stupid. Why would he steal with Grislan, the arbiter lord, AND Trasthe sitting in town? Was all fun, though. Besides losing my bleedin' whip. :P
Blik thinks Trasthe was motivated by:
1)Pride. He wanted to be the first arbiter to convict a conjurer for his monkey stealing in town, an act which annoys everyone.
2)Greed. He desired the much-mana-giving alligator-skinned whip Blik carried.
