That was a reference to the guy that accused the player of being a moron for hoarding 47 mil., when he did not know that the player actually got that money from a PK.

> And if you still contend that we can't know what happened, how can you then go on to criticize the immortal involved since (unless you're a friend of his) you "do not know any details of what happened" either?

The player claimed that immortakl's first action was "empower player n" (or whatever) and then "tell player Perhaps next time you will follow the code more closely." This is not a great RP in my opinion. Considering the ammount of effort and RP it takes to get empowered, the unempowerment process should not go like "Bah! You don't follow the code, you are unempowered". If you, guys, take empowerement so seriously, why do you take unempowerment so lightly? It is not good from IC side of the question and it pisses a player off OOC.

> > He was really screwed. Perhaps justly, perhaps not, but I completely agree with him that the imm was in the wrong, when he acted without any rping and before he knew any nuances abot the char.

> I think it's pretty clear, whether the immortal met anyone's RP standards or not, that there weren't any character nuances missed in the process. Even if the character gambled away 47 million in gold, I would hardly consider that an act of charity. He broke the Code, he got caught. I doubt that the immortal in question didn't snoop him for a while, in which case the immortal had more information about the situation than you do. You're assuming an awful lot about what happened on the immortal side of this story.

You are probably right here, but without RP from immortal's side it does look like the immortal just checked the player's EQ and bank account and then unempowered him. It probably was not like that, I do want to believe it wasn't, but such is the first impression you get from the log.

> > Also, it is very understandable he posted what happened with him on this forum. It probably did not help him a bit IC, but it is understandable.

> Understandable because of what? Because venting is healthy?

Yes. (see the change from pissed to not-so-pissed?) :)

> Because it will make the game better?

I hope so.
At least for him it did make the game better. He was begginning to lose faith in the imms *chuckle*, the discussion that followed helped him to regain it.

> Unless I'm mistaken the original reason of the post appears to be to lash out at the immortal that unempowered him and to try and rally support for himself.

I think, partly. He needed to share what happened to him with someone, I think that's the main reason.

> Now, as a side bonus, other players will be reassured that neo-Paladins can't just do whatever they want. So, in a way, the post might have helped someone.

That's what I meant when I said that the discussion that followed was interesting for some of us.

> Other than that, I don't see it's educational value, especially after having already been discussed once.

Yes, posting this in another thread was a bit odd, but that only indicates how pissed he was and calling him moron (in the post previous to my first) does not help a lot.

Finally.

Imms, give us a little credit. Most of our mistakes are not because we want to cheat, but because we do not understand how exactly you want us to act. And we are ready to learn.
