I can think of an easily feseable rp which if the arbie asked "did you just commit a crime?" I'd say a sounding NO, but in the same situation he asked instead "Did you attack X in Galadon moments ago?" I'd say a proudly YES! Now something somewhat related: The Paladin's greatest foe is by all counts the Anti-paladin. Fire
Maybe you noticed it, maybe you didn't, there are 3 types of cities (which can mix up): Arbiter law abider, non-lawful and some with their own set of laws.
Likewise we have a funny Captain of the guard in Galadon that likes to kick the arse of anyone who slays a guard, and he is lawful. Maybe the lawful paladin should follow the steps of this Captain.
Ok, you mentioned all those pretty rules of the Paladin Code, I'll copy them and add one:
7. Be fair of speech and actions.
8. Never lie; be true to your word.
9. Respect the laws of the land and those who seek to enforce them.
12. Respect the guild, and the other Paladins that belong to it.
To then throw this:
giants, dark-elves, duergar, and necromancers, are all certainly your foes
as well, and you should stop at nothing to destroy them and all their
works. The Anti-paladin, however, undermines everything that you, as a
Paladin, stand for, and seeks to destroy all that is pure and
good to appease their twisted souls. Your greatest concern as a warrior
should be to hunt down and destroy any Anti-paladin that crosses your
path. Fire giants, dark-elves, duergar, necromancers, and all others who
walk in the Shadow should also be shunned and a paladin should slay them
unless they learn the error of their evil. The vile guild of Anti-paladins,
however, should be culled from the face of Thera. To do less would
dishonor the Paladin, their god, and their guild.
Could anyone care to explain what's wrong with this picture? I see a "stop at nothing" and then I see "respect the laws", I see a "to do less would disonor your guild" and then a "respect your guild". Afterall, attack the ap guild or not???
