And that is to long. 1) Leaders are BUISY. I do not think I could name a time when any of my leader chars did not have at least five different things going on, not to mention people talking to them. One time, I was away for two days, and came back to 45 notes. 19 of which were applications. 2) To be a decent leader(in muds or in real life) you have to have the ability to make on the spot judgement calls, and at least be right most of the time (perfection not required really). Here is how I handled application notes...as buisy as I was. 1) I would read the subject line, and write down on paper the name. 4) I would put an up,down, or sideways arrow next to the name, signifying my opening impression of the person. 5) I would check the who to see which were on. 6) and if I was not buisy dieing, or trying not to die, I would seek out whoever was on. Notice that the note is only there for a first impression. The note is an introduction. You do not go up to a woman in the bar and say "Hello, my name is LoGB Van Buren the third, Born in california, where I had a great childhood. I then moved to Fairfax virginia, where I had a troubled time fitting in, but I think this actually made me a stronger person, I then moved to Australia where I met this Arolin person who scared me into moving back to the United states with his creepiness. I went through a number of relationships in College, and one WILD fling with a pizza deliver chick while I was an indentured servant. But all in all I think that because of who and what I am I think I am worthy of asking you for your name." You go up to them, look them in the eye, and say, "Hello pretty lady, you smell like flowers" or some such (yes, that actually got me slapped twice, laughed at 14 times, and a blow job once...worth it) MY POINT BEING... wait...let me remember it... OH, My point is, be brief, but HOW you are brief, HOW you present yourself can tell VOLUMES. A picture is worth a thousand words. But a few words in a text game, and a few well placed emotes, are worth even more when it comes to first impressions. NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO RAMBLE... much like I am doing... LoGB back from retirement
2) I would check to see if it was long.
3)
a, if it was long, I would put an asterik by the name(meaning I would try to read the whole thing when I had time)then read the first few lines, and the last few lines.
b, if succinct, I would read the whole thing.
