There are plenty of religious people in the world that aren't priests/priestesses and who have had no formal training in ritualistic religious practices.

granted there are poeple who are priests/priestesses, but in every different tribe/creed etc there is always someone who is the headman/woman of the religion - wether its the crazy witch doctor (shaman) or the old crony with her crazy witchcraft to heal you (healer).

:P Was it the egyptians that thought that cats were (or held in high regard or something)...
Im not up on my history so much anymore, but I think it was.

earth cats - dont qualify as a culture though fot the purpose of this discussion.

My opinion is that all races should be allowed to play shaman/healers/bards/warriors
cos every culture has relgion (shaman + healers)
every culture has music (bards - even if its whacking on a bone a hollow bit of wood)
and every culture hit something with a stick or rock at some point (warrior)

an argument you might have is that you cant compare a giant whacking on drum to the music of the elf bard with a well crafted harp - but the effects - preparing people for battle or calming them down are probably the same. Maybe bard songs should be more effective on their own race.

enough rambling, time for to go to my shrine and pray to the almighty Garfield :P
