Any reason?

Go fight someone using two swords. Your defense won't increase, but your offense
will.

And the reason I want to go through the empowerment process is???

Flurry as far as I know is a rush upon the opponent while throwing as many
blows as possible. That means it's fairly uncontrolled and must be done
fairly close to the opponent which would bring you within striking range, allowing
them to strike back, perhaps with a risposte.

I know they're a bit rough already, but just a couple things to add to realism.

Yeah go ahead and spin your staff or spear around. I'll take my shield and shove that staff back into
you while I stick my sword through ya, all the while laughing at your attempt to spin.

Sure I can find one, but shoving a dagger into someone really doesn't require your on side hand to do.

Good. Haven't tried a whip spec.

> Not a bad idea, I suppose. But have you been choked and pulled to death lately? Didn't think so.
Try wrapping a flail around someone. There's not enough chain. If the chain's that long that you
can choke and pull then have a great time trying to use the thing.

Considering if I'm fighting you one on one and you set your pole against me I'll step around it
and beat you to a pulp while you're trying to figure out why I didn't impale myself on it.
Oh and as for charge. Err we're standing like right next to each other. Not that tough to get
the hell out of the way while you come running at me like something out of quest for the holy grail.

Scottish claymore? Ok weighs about 12 lbs and was used mainly as a weapon against horses. Go carry one around for
awhile and tell me you'd want a weapon twice that weight hanging from your back.

> there may not be a Human alive that could wield a sword weighing twenty five pounds (doubtful), but

Sure there is. An actual hit depending on where you got hit will not kill you right off. As far as dodging
parrying and such, how do you think they fought against the axe in the first place? It's a heavy, strangely
weighted weapon to start with and isn't too easy to use.

>Also, "Back in the day", Humans were much more able bodied than the pasty white flabby bastards we've become.
Mmm not really. Most romans were quite a bit smaller than everyone else. Considering the lack of food and poor
conditions I seriously doubt they all were hulking giants.

> > or an axe weighing 35+ lbs. Giants are a different matter of course.
> Yes they are. And Humans could wield an axe weighing 35 pounds

That's something I'd like to see. I'd give you one swing even with two hands.
That's all you'd last because the weight would throw you off and you wouldn't
recover fast enough. I could go get a hotdog and coke and still have enough time
to stab ya before you dragged that axe up again to swing at me.
