When they get online again, they can wait there till an imm puts them down in the realm again, or decide to drop link again. > > Bad idea. This screws people in so many ways it's not even funny. Besides, if someone drops link with on char and logs in with another, it is quite often caught and punished. > How does it screw them? It's not like Have you ever spent any time in cabal limbo? It sucks ass. Not to mention the whole issue with people actually losing link, not on purpose. Or people who have to cut link (in a relatively safe place) because they don't WANT to log off (like if they are in a cabal) but have to be afk for a while. Or someone's boss walks in and wants to talk for 10 minutes. I can think of a lot of "valid" reasons for dropping link. So long as it isn't done to avoid any circumstances for the char (about to be wanted, slept, almost dead from a pk, dying to poison, the list goes on and on). If I'm playing a level 22 master invoker and I am off in the middle of nowhere (let's say an air-room that can only be accessed after going underwater, and I only have dwarves and duergar in pk) where I am pretty much perfectly safe, and I'm spamming spell practice, and need to cut my link for 10 minutes because the dog needs to go out, or some such, I don't see a problem.
