Energy Drain wouldn't it be nice if it transfered some of the energy to the caster?

I know when an AP gets his weapon it really does some drinking of anothers life and soul. But shouldn't energy drain do also to a lesser degree? Be sorta a paladin with cure light and then cure critical just the dark version of it
