Hruptek might have been the worst master ever. He may have had a roleplay problem or whatever, BUT, using this flimsy ass argument over the way magic works was not the way to go about it.

There's no reason to dance around the reason for dismissal or to construct one that may or may not be grounds for uninduction(which I don't think the magic argument is). Tell him what he did wrong, tell him how to correct it, and then tell him to come back when he has.
