Okay, I have huge gaps in my playing cf since forms came out and i've had to piece together what I could from talking to other people and old logs. My opinion right now is that air forms are kind of horrible... they have a very useful scouting potential, but little ability in combat. From what i've seen, the air form has lost the following since their arrival:

1. Multiple attacks
2. World flyto
3. Some of their damage potential

Have they gained anything in return? Yes, world flyto was a bad idea... but seeing as how they lost it, maybe something should be given back in return. The current description of flyto says you can now even do it indoors if you're in the same area. I'm not quite sure how this is coded, but it really doesn't seem to help. Now yes, it's pretty easy to scout all flyable (I know that isn't a word) places in Thera rather quickly, and some might say that's the next best thing to world flyto. But the fact is, anybody who has a teleport potion or return potion can now easily evade the old flyto murder strategy.
As far as I can see, air forms are now mostly the novelty of being able to fly around and that's it. Yes, I believe i'm fairly knowledgeable in how to use them (I don't just flyto/murder) and I consistantly use wands and such. I haven't tried it yet, but i'd be willing to wager a prepared boar vs. a prepared air form fight would end in the boar winning. This really hasn't bothered me to a great extent, but I felt like posting this after getting two MANGLES off on a slowed/faerie fired fighting class opponent in 8 rounds of fighting... not to mention what happens when I try to fight a rager (yes, with sanc/shield/aura/stone skin). Mmm, I suppose this has been kind of whiny, but don't take it that way, i'm just a bit frustrated right now. Any comments/flames/clever vague remarks? All are welcome to comment, except those who are intending to say something to the effect of "Yes, there's a nifty trick or two they've gained, look harder." In which case I suggest you find better things to do with your posting time.
