> As a side note: Great PKers do turn the game around them like ta'veren. Arolin and Zharradam, for all the flack they get, were skilled PKers, and had a fairly big impact on the game at that time. Or, Quinthen, for example - perhaps he really did legitimately turn the Empire into a powerhouse that ruled CF.. but who noticed it? Who remembers it being powerful under the Great Quinthen? Not many, simply because they were never a threat, PK-wise, not like the Empire under Kah/Istendil/Savryn. You can resent it, or mock it, but it's true - by and large, PKers have an immense impact on the game. My suggestion is to learn how to PK and get them back.

However, great rp'ers turn the game around them even more. I'll give you a case in point, when I was mortal with Shokai...I really had no clue what I was doing as far as pk's went..but because of Shok's ability to martyr himself with every death (of course it was easy to be a martyr Knight when you were fighting a 4-1 raid situation :P)...but I remember several Ragers/Masters/Justice/Barons that would drop what they were doing and rally around Knights because they liked Shokai. Now the people who spin the mud around and become an axis point, are those players that are stellar rpers, and damn good at pk's...I'll point you (since we all loved those whacky liches) to Istendil and Zorszaul, CF became/becomes a different game entirely when they were/are around. There are a lot of other examples of that as well, but since those two names are huge, might as well play on it, eh? People who purely pk do have a huge impact on the game...and not one that is entirely positive. I'm not going to spout my normal rant here, but I will summarize it by saying that CF is a PK & RP mud...not an either or...it's just easier to stand out when people fear you because you kill them everytime you log in. However, more respect is given to those rp'ers that people remember. just my $.02

*chuckle* yeah...I thought I smelled alterior motives :P
