There's a reason for that...:

Take a group of people who join a cabal PURELY for the enjoyment of its other members and not in any way for the powers, and you're likely to find people who enjoy playing the characters they've created.
For a similar reason, there's usually a lot of decent role-playing in the Dawn cabal (amongst those who aren't totally new to the game, and even then it gets cranked up a notch by those around them).

Experienced players choose one of these cabals because they've got a concept that they want to try out, or seek the challenge -- not because they want deathblow or scourge or centurions or manacles or whatever. Because of that, you tend not to get the weenies that those other cabals *can* attract. (No, I'm not calling you a weenie if you're a Masters/Ragers/Arbiter/etc. but you know that you've got cabal-mates who *are*, right?)

This is not to say that other cabals don't RP -- far from it. Everyone can think of some stellar role-playing that's come out of each and every cabal in Thera. I simply think that for Troupe (and, to some extent, Dawn) the median RP level is higher than in other cabals for the reason stated above.

Of course, I'm biased...
