I agree with TOW that being a Spectre need never be boring. However, I also understand your frustration. It took me a while to talk the Evil Elven Cleric (EEC)into giving me my reagants, and then a much longer while to find them. My advice to you is twofold: 1) Start exploring now. You have nothing to lose. Odds are you will be given at least one reagant that is very, very hard to locate. You might as well start scouring areas looking for strange, hard to find objects now. Knowing what the object is does not always narrow down your search locations. 2) Find another Lich to teach you how to mix the elixir (i.e. what reagents you need). The EEC is flaky (on a good day), and it is entirely in character for him to keep you waiting for no good reason other than that. There are other Liches in the game who are a bit more "predictable" and might be more willing to help...but their price for helping might be a bit higher. Either way, if you don't have a good role, or the Immortals don't see you as having a reason to Become (this is a guess, by the way), they have no reason to "reward" you with your reagents. And it is a reward; I liken getting the list to getting a quest form. Not everyone receives one. Surviving the elixir is an entirely different "reward". As far as praying, it worked for me. But it went something along these lines: I went to Arboria, made my way to the church, and sent up a pray "I seek to approach the EEC that I might speak with him of the Becoming" (or something along those lines). Then I would wait for a sign, i.e. the door opening, a cackle echoing throughout the area, etc. to let me know an Imm was ready for me. If I got no sign (after a decent wait...Imms are busy people), I departed, assuming that there was no Immortal on at the time willing to interact with me, and went about my business. I would most definitely NOT wait for the EEC/other Lich to contact me. They most likely have no reason to do so.
