Let's compare a cloud giant to a multi-colored hot-air balloon flying at 100 feet. If that hot air balloon were to float over your house while you were outside, let's say swimming, what would your chances of missing it be? Remember, it's only at a 100 feet(slightly higher than the top of most water towers, at least those around here).

Now a hot-air balloon is probably what, 40-50 tall? A cloud giant is probably 10-12 feet tall, but he's only floating by at what would probably be 1 foot above the ground at most(afterall, we can still hit them when we fight them right?)

I don't know about you, but I think I would see both the hot-air balloon and the cloud giant.
