I agree with you completely on your stance regarding Daggers and Swords... but I wonder what your opinion is on the following:
dagger then sword second spec...
or sword then dagger second spec...?
I like the dagger/sword combo as opposed to sword/dagger. It's kind of risky, I'd say, but I also think that it's more important to perfect the dagger spec skills as opposed to sword ones, and if you get all the sword ones at 40 you can deal with them being unperfected.
Just my take...
> Sword and dagger are a decent pairing for exactly this reason, which is counter to Graham's point. Swords provide nice parrying weapons, along with a number of specialized damage-dealing specs. They are what I would call a tanking spec, along with polearms and spear/staff.
> Daggers provide offense and utility at the expense of defense, as well as various malediction-style specials and "tricks". However, I wouldn't necessarily charge a group wielding daggers, because they are awful defensive weapons. They're certainly not what comes to mind when I hear the phrase "tanking spec". They are, however, what comes to mind when I'm thinking about closing the deal on a foe I know I can beat.
