yes, asking about a skill, and a long time ago at that, I picked it because it shows that when you were a newer player, you needed help as well. Most people do. It has nothing to do with spoonfeeding- there are times when there are things that your character should know that the player doesn't- such as an assassin with 75% stalk not knowing what to do with it. Wouldn't the guildmaster have mentioned something? Ideally, the answer would be in the helpfile, but the helpfile for that particular skill isn't so obvious. Similar example: Someone recently asked how to, as an example, hit the second kobold in the room. Your character certainly knows how to pick the one on the right. Finally, there are lots of things that are completely inappropriate to discuss in game: game balance, roleplay, etc. This Forum is a fine place for that. Lets say that some little joke here, posts answers to quests, that i didnt knew(it happens a lot), A lot? Hardly, unless you define "quests" a lot differently than the VIP staff does. It's very rare that we have to nail posts like that, and it's a good way to end up on the ban list. If one of those jokes becomes common knowledge, i wont have that information because i didnt read this forum and wasnt spoon fed. I will loose a bit of edge in the game then. Using logic like that, I could justify an ICQ permagroup, emailing databases of quest solutions and maps among an "inner circle", and many other forms of cheating that could give me an edge. You're saying spoonfeeding is despicable, but you'll partake anyway? Hypocrisy. If you think the Forum is evil, take your case to Dioxide or the IMMs, and don't come here. I think the Forum, within the Forum Rules is a fine way to advance the game as a whole. It's why I spend time enforcing the Forum Rules, and why I'm comfortable reading it. Tell me doesnt it sounds wrong that to get better in a game, you read a forum? It doesn't to me. I think it's a great resource, much like the official web page. It provides people with some basic information, and a format in which they can chat with the CF community about how to make the game better, share stories, and fine tune their own playing skills. Judging by Randarab's farewell thread, you've found things you want to discuss OOC as well. See? No one got hurt. By your logic, I could say the following: "Do you want Nepenthe to spoon-feed you how to impress him? It's totally unfair that you found out that praying four whole times isn't shit. You should keep rolling up characters and repeating that mistake until you get it right somehow." As much as you may or may not know about exploration and PKing, some of the things you said in that thread give me the impression that you could use some pointers on Immteraction. (*) (**) -PB P.D.I know nobody cares, everyone likes to be fed. Hardly. But stumbling around blind isn't so fun either. (**): I cannot believe I'm borrowing a Zepachuism.
(*): I could as well. Many people aren't great at it. But it's clear that you aren't an expert on everything, and that you are willing to use the CForum when it suits your needs. You seem to bitch only when someone is helping someone else with something that you already know, and it doesn't help you personally.
